Primitive Machine are a rock band from Dublin that I've been listening to for over a year. They are described as alternative rock but I feel that their sound is bigger than that. The band consists of Tracy Moore on vocals and guitar, Chris Fleming on lead guitar, John Carey on bass and Paul Costello on drums. I really like the classic rock guitar riffs and solos, mixed with some impressively ambitious song writing. In fact, their songs are epic and and take you on a journey from the 70's straight through to modern day and back. Each song is constructed wonderfully and the rearrangements are breath taking at times. Most of their songs have a driving tempo that get your heart racing. Tracy Moore fronts the band with a confident delivery and a voice made for rock and blues. I think that this is a band that have a sound that could fill large arenas, such is the grandeur of it all. The only downside is that there isn't a whole lot of tracks available to listen to yet. They do appear to be active currently so I'm hoping there might be some more singles on the way soon. Tracks to check out are Music Box, Freefall, Altered and Vortex.
