Cashell is a Dublin artist who has recently released his debut solo album, If, by chance, estranged... The album was recorded in Scotland, where Cashell now lives, and in his own words, the album deals with the "realities of leaving Ireland, finding work in a new country, and balancing nostalgia with where to go next."

I've given it a good listen and I really like the album. It's a laid-back indie style of sludgy surfer rock with a psychedelic edge. While on the surface it sounds raw and thrown together, it's really well-crafted and constructed. At the base level, the songwriting is great. The style could be anything but without the songs, there's nothing. Cashell has exceptionally well-written songs and has been able to deliver them to our ears in a way that's a very easy listen. I really did enjoy this album. It blends a lot of styles together, but the electronic layer really makes this collection stand out while still keeping the feel of the organic, stripped back song behind it.

Standout tracks for me are Said and Done, These Things Take Time and Take It Easy.
