Brake Loose are a Dublin based rock band who were formed in 2019 by Venezuelan front man and poet Alejandro Murillo. The band play high energy, fast paced rock with disco drum beats and a sound that would have vampires from all over the world dancing the bloody night away with full teeth on show. After all, there's no shame in being a person of the night and Brake Loose certainly embrace the darker side of life. The band also features David O’Grady on guitar, Juan Jose Pulpeiro on bass and Nando Alonso drums.
Brake Loose have been releasing a steady stream of singles and got themselves out there regularly to perform them. The hard work seems to have paid off and they've accumulated a strong back catalogue of songs whilst gaining social media momentum. I've no doubt that this is the type of music belting out at every vampire disco.
The debut Brake Loose EP called, Frenetic, has just been released and it's a stomper which opens with the two best songs they have recorded to date. It starts off with a fantastic song called Dancing on the Red Line, which is more pop sounding and a slight change of style for the band. There is a pop melody in most of their tracks but this one embraces it more with a synth hook and 80s vibe. I think the band should explore this sound more and they may have stumbled on to something. The other stand out song on the EP for me is the rocker, Treat Her Like A Rose. If you want a quick introduction to Brake Loose, I would start here.
Brake Loose are a band who have been around for a few years. I feel they may have put in the hard work and are now ready to move on to the next level. They most certainly have the talent. Go check them out!
